We have added French Marans
chickens to our list of critters here at the ranch. We have a growing flock of
these interesting chickens that lay a very dark russet colored egg. We have
several colors of the Marans, and we are striving to breed a bird that is to the
French standard. Our favourites are the Blues and Blue Coppers, but we have a
flock that contains,Splash,Black Copper, Blue and Blue Copper. Here are some of our nice dark eggs from our Marans flock (the "regular" brown egg is shown for contrast)
A new roll of hay is cause for big excitement ,the donkeys all run like maniacs and Val even jumps up on the empty trailer to check it out.
Here is Paul having a visit with some of our jennets !!
We had quite a bit of snow here in March and the donkeys took it quite well, even little Concho who was just a few weeks old.
Our new red jack "RC" smiling for the camera.
Paul building the fillies and donkeys a new shelter and he has alot of helpers !!
Kinda looks like a giant donkey "corney dog" !!!
Since the back of our ranch faces west we often see some very lovely sunsets like this one.
"Seeing Spots" Here are two spotted girls that have the same mother-- Rearview's Flossie.
